Help our older adults get to their doctor appointments including COVID vaccine appts, chemo, and dialysis! Our program is unique in that all services provided are free of cost to the individual, with no membership fees or obligations. There is a huge need in Covington which has an aging population and very little to no access to public transportation.
Join our core of Volunteer Drivers! You can pick rides that work with your schedule. VS offers mileage reimbursement, volunteer insurance, opportunities to gather with other volunteers for additional training and socializing, and great support from program staff
Volunteer Services (VS) connects community members to their neighbors to provide personalized volunteer transportation services to low-income older adults who can no longer drive, whose health and mobility limitations prevent them from using public/community transportation.
A little background on Volunteer Services:
Volunteer Services, a program of Catholic Community Services, assists low-income older adults and adults living with disabilities. Volunteers can provide assistance with light housecleaning, transportation, grocery shopping, home repair, and yard care. With a little help from volunteers, clients can continue to live independently in their homes.
Due to the vulnerable population we serve, volunteers must complete an application form, pass a Washington State Patrol check and attend an orientation.
