Bring smile to a Hospice Patient

Hospice Volunteers may work with hospice staff, patients, and their families in a variety of settings. The volunteer may provide support in the hospice office, patient’s private residences, assisted living facilities or nursing facilities. The volunteer serves as an extension of the Hospice Team.

Patient volunteers may provide respite care for patients for short times to allow their family to go to the doctor, run errands, go to church, get haircut, etc.; may spend time with children in the patients' household to give them time and attention or to give caregivers a break; may read to patients, play music, help patients write in their journal, do crafts, or hobbies; may write letters for patients; may play cards or games with patients.

Office volunteers may provide clerical support such as addressing envelopes, stuffing mailers, making copies, filing, provides receptionist support, answering phones, greeting visitors, and taking messages.

Volunteers are a vital part of the Hospice Family. All training is provided and worked around your schedule.

Death Douala is a new concept helping family and patient with end of life care. More hands on experience. Requires special education and requirements that we provide. Brand new to our location.

Students are welcome must be at least 18 and have a willingness to learn.

Due to COVID-19 We are currently not sending volunteers to see patients.
