As a Hospice Companionship Volunteer, you will spend one-on-one time with hospice patients providing comfort and companionship during an important stage of life.
Volunteer activities may include:
• Talking and visiting with patients
• Listening to life stories
• Reading, watching TV, or listening to music together
• Offering companionship to reduce loneliness
• Supporting patients and families alongside the hospice care team
This role helps nursing students develop skills that every great nurse needs: empathy, listening, and patient-centered care.
