About the Global Africa Summit Charlotte
The Global Africa Summit (GAS) Charlotte is a premier international convening bringing together business leaders, investors, policymakers, entrepreneurs, diaspora professionals, academic institutions, and ecosystem partners to advance trade, investment, innovation, and strategic collaboration between Africa and global markets. The summit will take place Sept 8-10 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Held during African Diaspora Heritage Month in North Carolina, the summit will feature:
- High-level panels and discussions
- Networking and partnership opportunities
- Business and investment engagement
- Ecosystem and policy conversations
- The 6Africa Deal Room and ecosystem activations
- A special Dinner Gala celebrating leadership, culture, innovation, and global collaboration
The summit is organized by the Africa Investment Network (AIN) in partnership with regional and global collaborators committed to strengthening economic engagement and shared prosperity.
Volunteer Opportunity
AIN is seeking enthusiastic, professional, and dependable volunteers to support the successful execution of the Global Africa Summit Charlotte.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting an international summit while engaging with global leaders, investors, diplomats, entrepreneurs, cultural leaders, and distinguished guests from across Africa and the diaspora.
Volunteers will play an important role in helping create a welcoming, organized, and impactful experience for attendees throughout the summit and gala activities.
Volunteer Responsibilities
Volunteers may support:
- Event setup and breakdown
- Registration and attendee check-in
- Guest services and attendee support
- VIP, speaker, and dignitary ushering/support
- Session and room coordination
- Networking reception and Dinner Gala support
- Directional assistance and crowd flow management
- Supporting summit logistics and operations
- Social media management
- Assisting the AIN team and event partners throughout the summit
Who Should Apply?
We welcome volunteers who are:
- Professional, organized, and dependable
- Friendly and comfortable engaging with diverse audiences
- Interested in Africa-focused trade, investment, entrepreneurship, culture, or global engagement
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced event environment
- Able to work collaboratively as part of a team
Prior event experience is helpful but not required.
