Join Nimble Growth, a grassroots NGO and educational charity based in the peaceful coastal village of Cape Three Points, Ghana. We’re currently building a brand-new Afterschool Club to support local children’s learning and development — and we’d love for you to be part of it!
This is more than just a volunteer experience — it’s an opportunity to live within a warm, welcoming community, contribute to meaningful work, and explore the stunning nature and culture of Western Ghana.
Your Role as a Volunteer
You’ll support our growing project in a variety of ways:
• Assisting in the construction of the Afterschool Club
• Helping local teachers and engaging with children through play, storytelling, or lessons
• Supporting eco-friendly and community-based projects
• Creating positive, inspiring spaces for kids to learn and grow
You don’t need prior experience — just a kind heart, a can-do attitude, and a willingness to learn.
Fees & What’s Included
The volunteer fee is $150 per week, which goes directly into supporting the project and caring for our volunteers. It covers:
• 3 nutritious meals daily, all home-cooked
• Accommodation in a shared dorm or a private room for couples/pairs
• Clean water from the on-site well
• Electricity powered by solar energy
• Wages for local workers assisting with construction
• Building materials for the afterschool center
This fee ensures that the project remains community-led and sustainable while supporting the local economy.
Eco-Living at Its Best
You’ll be staying on a serene eco-site surrounded by nature, just a short walk from the ocean. We use solar energy and well water, which means there’s no running water — instead, we use bucket showers, a common and traditional practice throughout West Africa. While it may be a new experience for some, it’s a refreshing and humbling way to connect with the environment and local culture.
Electricity is available in all rooms, and we offer both dorm-style rooms and private rooms for couples or friends.
Delicious Home-Cooked Meals
All meals are lovingly prepared by your host or a wonderful woman from the village. Expect to eat local, wholesome, and flavorful dishes such as:
• Red red (bean stew with fried plantain)
• Fufu and light soup
• Egg stew with rice
• Spaghetti with tomato sauce
• Fresh fruits and vegetables daily
There’s also the chance to learn to cook local dishes — a great way to dive deeper into Ghanaian culture.
Weekend Adventures & Local Experiences
Cape Three Points is one of Ghana’s most stunning coastal areas, and your weekends are free to explore:
• Cape Three Points Lighthouse – the southernmost point in Ghana with incredible ocean views
• Busua Beach – a vibrant surf town nearby
• Nzulezu Stilt Village – a unique village built over water
• Dixcove Fort and Butre – historic sites rich with culture
• Cape Coast Castle – a powerful piece of Ghanaian history
• Yoga retreats, surf lessons, and spiritual circles are often organized locally
At the site, you’ll also enjoy bonfires, community meals, and evening hangouts under the stars.
Your Host & Support Team
You’ll be welcomed and supported by Joseph, the founder of Nimble Growth. Joseph is a spiritual yoga teacher with years of experience in wellness, education, and community development. He leads daily activities, offers yoga and mindfulness sessions, and is your main point of contact for any concerns, help, or questions. From airport pickups to day-to-day organization, Joseph ensures every volunteer feels safe, guided, and at home.
The project is also supported by amazing local staff who make the experience truly special:
Kwame – assists with construction, groundwork, cleaning, and general volunteer support
Esther – helps with cooking, cleaning, and creating a welcoming atmosphere
Eddie – supports cooking and maintenance around the compound
At Nimble Growth, we believe that true community development starts from within. That’s why we prioritize employing local people from Cape Three Points to support every aspect of our project — from construction and cooking to teaching and site maintenance. By hiring from the village, we’re not only creating meaningful employment opportunities, but also ensuring that the impact of the project is shared and sustained across the wider community. This approach empowers local families, boosts the local economy, and builds a deep sense of ownership and pride in the Afterschool Club. It also ensures that Nimble Growth is not just Joseph’s vision — it becomes a collective effort, deeply rooted in the people, culture, and future of Cape Three Points.
