Volunteer Licensed Mental Health Clinician (Supervisor for Interns)

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Volunteer Licensed Mental Health Clinician to provide clinical supervision to graduate-level mental health interns. This role is ideal for a clinician who is passionate about developing new professionals in the field, supporting ethical and evidence-based care, and contributing to accessible mental health services within our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide weekly or biweekly clinical supervision to mental health interns (individual and/or group).
- Review intern case notes, treatment plans, and assessments to ensure quality and compliance with ethical and legal standards.
- Offer guidance on clinical skills, diagnostic considerations, crisis intervention, and professional development.
- Maintain communication with program leadership regarding intern progress and concerns.
- Ensure all supervised work meets state, professional, and organizational guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Must hold an active independent mental health license (e.g., LPC, LMHC, LCPC, LCSW, LMFT, Psychologist, etc.).
- Must hold a Multi-State License or be licensed in a Compact State appropriate to your discipline (e.g., Counseling Compact, Social Work Compact, Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact/PSYPACT).
- Minimum 2 years post-licensure experience (or as required to supervise interns in your state).
- Approved by your state board to provide clinical supervision (if applicable).
- Strong knowledge of ethics, cultural competency, trauma-informed care, and professional boundaries.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and mentorship skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience supervising interns or provisionally licensed clinicians.
- Experience in telehealth or community mental health settings.
- Commitment to volunteer service and training emerging professionals.
Hours & Commitment
- Flexible schedule
- Typically 2–6 hours per week depending on intern caseload
- Remote supervision sessions available
