    Job Overview:

    The Mentor Manager plays a crucial role in supporting VPMMA's mentoring program. This individual will oversee and support mentors in various mentoring formats, including 1:1 mentoring, group mentoring, and panel discussions. The Mentor Coordinator ensures a positive and productive experience for mentors and mentees, contributing to the successful career development of veterans and military spouses in project management.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Mentor Onboarding & Training: Onboard new mentors in the Volunteer Staff Pipeline. Provide role-specific training on VPMMA's mentoring program, guidelines, and best practices once fully pre-boarded.

    Note: the Volunteer Manager conducts VPMMA orientation

    • Mentor Matching & Coordination: Collaborate effectively with Readiness Coaches to determine the optimal mentor match for mentees. Match mentees to mentors on MentorLoop, acting as the program coordinator.
    • Mentor Support & Engagement: Provide ongoing support to mentors by addressing questions, concerns, and individual needs. Develop resources and materials to aid mentors in their role and ensure consistency.
    • Participation Monitoring & Recordkeeping: Track attendance, engagement, and feedback from both mentors and mentees. Maintain accurate records of mentor participation and program activities to ensure transparency and accountability. Address any issues or gaps in participation promptly.
    • Evaluation & Program Improvement: Collect and analyze data, feedback, and testimonials to assess the effectiveness of the mentorship program. Recommend and implement improvements to strengthen the program and replicate best practices.
    • Collaboration & Alignment: Collaborate with other VPMMA team members to ensure mentorship efforts align with overall program goals and organizational mission.

    Skills and Qualifications:

    Essential:

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
    • Experience in mentoring or coaching (preferred).
    • Understanding of adult learning principles.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Passion for supporting veterans and military families.
    • Proficiency in using online communication and collaboration tools.

    Desired:

    • Project management experience or knowledge.
    • Familiarity with veteran transition challenges.
    • Experience in facilitating group discussions.
