Drive for FISH of Lexington (One Day a Month Makes a Difference!)
For over 50 years, FISH of Lexington has been central to our community’s neighbor-to-neighbor support. Since 1972, our all-volunteer organization has provided free, reliable transportation to and from medical appointments for Lexington residents who are unable to drive to an appointment. We aren't just a ride service; we are a lifeline that preserves the independence and dignity of our seniors.
Beyond the driving, you’ll meet Lexington residents, hear and exchange stories, and be an essential part of the Lexington's community of sharing.
Boston or Local? Drivers specify whether they will provide rides to destinations in Lexington and vicinity or to Boston and more urban locations, or both. Your preference is noted on the monthly schedule, and the driver may decline a ride request that they consider out of their comfort zone.
How much time? The typical time commitment is one day each month, which may include more than one assignment. Some drivers volunteer for more than one day, but that is the driver's choice. You can specify time limitations if you are unable to drive at certain times of day.

All drivers must be over 21 years old, have a driver's license, and agree to a Masssachusetts CORI check, which confirms that you have no criminal record.
