Communications and social media for Zambia, Kenya, Haiti

Position Summary

The Communications Volunteer will be responsible for supporting the communications strategy in Zambia and ensuring alignment with CMMB’s global communication priorities. This role will involve coordinating local communications efforts, contributing to content creation, and supporting the development and dissemination of informational materials across various digital platforms, including the website and social media channels.

In addition, the volunteer will assist in producing publications, visual content, and other communication assets that effectively highlight CMMB’s programs, community impact, and public health initiatives. They will also collaborate closely with team members and program staff to design and implement tailored communication plans that respond to local needs and organizational goals.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide mentorship and guidance to local staff for CMMB’s website and social media platforms, with a focus on Zambia, Kenya and Haiti.
• Create high-quality visual and written content using tools such as Canva, WordPress, Wix, and other social media design platforms.
• Ensure that website content is up-to-date, accurate, and aligned with the organization’s messaging and brand identity.
• Produce captivating narrative content (storytelling) that reflects community voices, program outcomes, and impact.
• Design, develop, and implement strategic fundraising campaigns to support program initiatives in Zambia, Kenya and Haiti including the creation, f compelling content, coordination of digital outreach efforts, and engagement of donors across multiple platforms to increase awareness, participation, and financial support.
• Monitor and analyze social media performance to inform content strategy and enhance audience engagement.
• Coordinate with local country teams and partners to gather relevant content and ensure its contextual accuracy.
• Management video editing platforms to promote visibility across multiple platforms.
• Support the development and implementation of communication plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, target audiences, and key messaging, particularly for programs in Peru.
• Coordinate the publicity and distribution of documentary content, including planning release strategies, promoting across digital channels, and engaging target audiences to maximize reach and impact.

Qualifications & Skill Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or certification in communications, marketing, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in social media management and content creation.
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills in English preferred.
• Speak French plus
• Familiarity with Zambia, Kenya and Haiti cultural and social context.
• Experience managing website content (e.g., WordPress or similar CMS).
• Demonstrated experience in social media management, particularly on LinkedIn, including content creation, audience engagement, and performance monitoring.
• Basic knowledge of graphic design principles and proficiency in tools such as Canva or similar.
