Help improve the health of your community by becoming a certified Lay Leader for evidence-based health workshops. Do you enjoy facilitating small groups, have a positive attitude, and like to motivate others to adopt healthier habits? We provide extensive training on how to conduct these workshops, which are delivered virtually and in person, and focus on helping people manage chronic conditions, chronic pain, and diabetes.
Volunteer Lay Leaders teach at least two workshops per year. Each workshop meets weekly for six weeks, and the time commitment is 3 to 4 hours per week during those six weeks. The dates and hours are flexible, as workshops are offered during business hours and on nights and weekends.
This opportunity is perfect for retirees; students in health fields who can commit to volunteering for two years; current health professionals who want to share their expertise with the community; or anyone suffering from a chronic condition who wants to share their experience.
