Volunteer Night Operations Coordinator

Compensation: Unpaid Volunteer Position
Reports To: School Director / Executive Director
Position Summary
Open Doors Academy is seeking a dependable and organized Volunteer Night Operations Coordinator to help coordinate the Academy’s evening and nighttime operations. This volunteer will help ensure that students, families, volunteers, and staff have a positive and organized experience during evening programming.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate evening and nighttime Academy activities.
- Help organize volunteer schedules and assignments.
- Assist with communication between evening volunteers, students, families, and school leadership.
- Help ensure evening programs begin and end as scheduled.
- Monitor attendance and maintain appropriate operational records.
- Assist with resolving routine operational issues during evening programming.
- Help prepare virtual or in-person classrooms and program materials.
- Communicate important updates to the School Director or designated supervisor.
- Help ensure volunteers understand their responsibilities.
- Support a welcoming, respectful, and student-focused environment.
- Assist with emergency procedures by following Academy policies and immediately reporting concerns to the appropriate leadership.
- Provide an end-of-shift summary of important activities, issues, or follow-up needs.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Dependable and able to work independently.
- Comfortable working during evening/night hours.
- Ability to communicate professionally with students, parents, volunteers, and leadership.
- Basic computer and technology skills.
- Previous experience in education, administration, nonprofit organizations, customer service, or operations is helpful but not required.

Volunteer Commitment
This is an unpaid volunteer position. The schedule is flexible and may be adjusted according to the Academy’s programming needs. The Volunteer Night Operations Coordinator does not have authority to make decisions outside the responsibilities delegated by Open Doors Academy leadership.
