State and federal guidelines require a background check, drug screening, TB test, physical and fingerprinting. Traditions Health will pay the cost for these requirements. Ongoing training and orientation will be provided.
Descrição
Traditions Health is looking for volunteers to spend some time with patients on Saturday or Sunday mornings to provide companionship to a hospice patient. Bring joy, comfort and connection to patients as they enter their last stages of life. You will receive an orientation and training, and will be well-supported by the hospice team. What can you do as a "cheer volunteer"?
- Friendly visit with patient
- Assist patients as they participate in nursing home activities
- Celebrate birthdays
- Play cards or a game
- Sit outdoors with them on a patio
- Walk their dog
- Play a musical instrument and/or sing
- Read a book
- Write letters that the patient dictates
