Paws for Purple Hearts Puppy Parent Volunteer!

Do you love dogs and want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our disabled Veterans? Paws for Purple Hearts is looking for dedicated Puppy Parent Volunteers to help provide our Service Dogs in Training with something incredibly important: a loving home life between their training sessions.

Our dogs spend their days learning valuable skills that will ultimately help improve the independence and quality of life of disabled Veterans. When training is done for the day, they need a place to relax, recharge, and simply be dogs. That’s where our Puppy Parents come in!

Puppy Parent responsibilities include:

• Picking up your assigned dog from the training facility each evening (7404 Commerce Way Unit D. Ruther Glen, VA 225456)
• Providing a safe, loving home environment overnight
• Dropping the dog back off at the facility each morning
• Having your assigned dog in your home on weekends
• Providing love, companionship, structure, and a chance to relax away from training

You’re not just opening your home to an adorable dog —you're helping prepare a future Service Dog for a disabled Veteran. Every cuddle, car ride, walk, and night spent together helps give these dogs the balance they need to thrive in their training.
