Intercessory Organisation Network Limited (ION)
Intercessory Organisation Network Limited (ION) is a faith-based, non-profit development organisation committed to empowering vulnerable communities across Zambia through sustainable development, leadership development, vocational skills training, entrepreneurship, agriculture, and community outreach.
Our programmes focus on creating sustainable livelihoods by equipping young people, women, and communities with practical skills while promoting innovation, resilience, and self-reliance through strategic partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Volunteers and staff may be involved in:
- Planning, implementing, and monitoring community development projects.
- Coordinating vocational skills and entrepreneurship training.
- Supporting agricultural and livelihood programmes.
- Mobilising and mentoring community groups.
- Managing volunteers and facilitating workshops.
- Building relationships with government, NGOs, donors, and local stakeholders.
- Conducting research, monitoring and evaluation, and project reporting.
- Supporting organisational development and resource mobilisation.
Qualifications and Requirements
We welcome individuals who:
- Are passionate about community service and sustainable development.
- Have experience in education, agriculture, entrepreneurship, project management, leadership development, or social work.
- Demonstrate excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
- Are adaptable and willing to work in rural communities.

For volunteers interested in exploring Southern Africa, ION can also help arrange optional cultural and wildlife excursions after the volunteer placement. These may include visits to Lusaka National Park, Munda Wanga Environmental Park, Victoria Falls, and, for those wishing to extend their stay, a safari adventure in Botswana's world-renowned Okavango Delta and Chobe National Park through our trusted tourism partners. These excursions are optional, self-funded, and subject to availability.
