Loving Young Parents, Inc. is recruiting Mentors who can volunteer for 1 - 2 hours each week to walk alongside young parents for 12–18 months. Our volunteer mentors are caring adults who offer teen parents encouragement, accountability, practical support, and the unconditional love of Christ in a safe, nonjudgmental environment.

To lovingly provide holistic support to young parents, ages 13-22, to help them live well and parent well.

Volunteer Mentor Responsibilities
- Meet weekly (for 1 hour) with assigned mentee(s) (in person or virtually).
- Build caring, consistent relationships.
- Encourage progress toward each mentee’s Loving Care Plan goals.
- Model healthy relationship, and parenting skills.
- Attend bi-monthly small groups and activities.
- Participate in quarterly trainings.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow child safety policies.
Qualifications
- Personal Christian faith is consistent with our statement of faith.
- Must be compassionate, dependable, emotionally mature, and respectful.
- Maintain healthy boundaries and a desire to invest in young parents.
Requirements
- Age 25+
- 12–18-month commitment
- Complete in-person mentor training
- Pass a criminal background check
- Sign required volunteer agreements and policies
This is an unpaid volunteer position.

The process for all potential mentors begins with completing our volunteer application by clicking HERE.
Once the application is submitted, an interview will be conducted. If the interview goes well, references will be checked and a background screening will be completed. Once the background check is cleared, the volunteer mentor will receive mentorship training (held in person and virtually) before being paired with a young parent.
