Purpose
This position supports the Regional Service to the Armed Forces department. This position description is for individuals serving in a leadership capacity in an MTF clinic: Hospital/Dental/Veterinary/Medevac Clinic Leads; Volunteer/Youth/Special Events and Transportation Services Leads
Responsibilities
- Ensure volunteers follow any guidelines related to uniform and immunization requirements
- Ensure volunteers maintain professionalism and follow the Red Cross Code of Conduct
- Follow up with volunteers and military entities to ensure job satisfaction and/or needs of both are met
- Conduct annual and ongoing clinic needs assessment
- Assist in planning and participating in volunteer recognition activities
- Maintain accurate records and reports
- Coordinate and schedule unit-required volunteer training as needed
- Interact and liaise with volunteers and Red Cross management and military personnel as needed
- Ensure continuity of required specialized volunteer training, placement and volunteer recognition.
- Ensure volunteers are tracking hours in Volunteer Connection
Time Commitment
- 8-10 hours weekly, spread out over 2+ days per week. - In Person
- Some flexibility is required.
- Volunteering options are Monday through Friday during regular business hours.
- COVID Vaccination Required (Fully, 2 weeks after 2nd dose)
- Needs to be a US Citizen without Dual citizenship
Qualifications
- Willingness to comply with Red Cross and Military Treatment Facility COVID-19 policies
- Additional security and health clearances may be required by medical treatment facilities in compliance with government regulations
- Familiarity with the medical facility organization and knowledge of volunteer guidelines within a medical setting
- Knowledge of Red Cross programs and services; knowledge of military protocol
- Ability to work well with different cultures and personality types

- Division SAF Management Team; Installation SAF Director; Volunteer Program Leaders; Military Medical/Dental/Vet liaisons; Installation Volunteer Coordinators; Regional Volunteer Director; Other volunteers; medical treatment facility staff; patients and family members
Length of Appointment
Indefinite until successor with an initial commitment of 1 year
