ABOUT THE POSITION: The Donor Relations Coordinator is a volunteer position reporting to the
Executive Director/Founder, Development Director, and when necessary, the Board of Directors. The
expected time commitment is a minimum of 5 hours/week. This position is primarily responsible for
developing and maintaining a donor base ensuring sustainability of the organization, creating strategies
and their implementation. The Donor Relations Coordinator will also personally cultivate, solicit, and
steward a portfolio of donors and prospects for the organization.
KEY RESPONSBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Assist with data entry, updating donor profiles, and ensuring records in the CRM system are accurate
- Coordinate and execute strategic plans and programs that increase funding capacity
- Oversee the communication with donors and potential donors, building relationships with donor prospects and cultivating and maintaining established donor, sponsor and partner relationships
- Draft personalized thank-you letters, emails, and impact reports; respond to donor inquiries
- Craft donor-related information or announcements and send to the Marketing and Communications Volunteer to include in newsletters and blog posts
- Coordinate donor appreciation activities, recognition events, and milestone acknowledgments
- Work with Executive Director/Founder and Development Director to establish Major Gift standards and procedures, including the donation amount and prospect cultivation strategies
- Use major giving fundraising and marketing tools as well as create new major gift fundraising campaigns. (Giving Tuesday Campaign, Year-end campaign, etc)
- Build a portfolio of 5-10 prospective donors to cultivate, solicit, and steward
- Collaborate with stakeholders to share stories and data showing how donations make a difference
- Collect informal donor feedback to improve engagement strategies
- Maintain excellent financial records for our treasurer/tax preparer
