Hospice provides support and care for those in the last phases of a life-limiting illness. Hospice recognizes death as part of the normal process of living. It affirms life and neither hastens nor postpones death while offering support and comfort for the patient and loved ones.
As a hospice volunteer you will have the opportunity to make a positive difference during this most difficult time for patients and their family members. Patients need help with errands, light chores, and giving the caretaker a much needed break. We are looking for volunteers with Hospice experience. Also, those who have gifts, talents, or skills to share with our clients and families, such as music therapy, pet therapy, art therapy, etc. Veterans are encouraged to apply.
Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to be eligible to work directly with patients and their families. Following an application process and background check, training will be provided, including issuance of PPE and training to ensure that all volunteers are in compliance with CDC social distancing guidelines to minimize the impact of COVID-19.
