Board Member Position

TU Beauty is seeking three board members to join our board of directors. We are seeking members who share our mission and are dedicated to giving back to the community. TU Beauty is dedicated to providing resources that will empower low-income communities around the metro Atlanta area. Our inventory is a reflection of the massive over-production of goods that sit on store shelves and in backrooms that go unused, and our goal is simple. We want to get these resources to people who will use them. TU Beauty strives to instill confidence and improve the well-being of those in our community by providing access to educational material and high-quality hair care, skin care, and makeup.

We are seeking board members who have experience in accounting, education, finance, fundraising/outreach, law, and marketing. However, we will still accept applications for those with experience in other fields. For more information, check out our website: tubeauty.org

Responsibilities:

• The Board will support the work of TU Beauty and provide mission-based leadership and strategic governance.
• Serving on committees/task forces and taking on special assignments
• Approving TU Beauty’s annual budget, audit reports, and material business decisions; being informed of and meeting all legal and fiduciary responsibilities
• Ability to attend regular monthly board/committee meetings, participate in planning, and support events.
• Strengthen and cultivate donor relations & fundraising campaigns.
• Must be able to serve for a one-year term

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of professional experience (not mandatory but preferred)
• Ability to work well within a group and collaborate with others.
• Have a strong moral compass and a passion for our mission.
• Critical problem-solving skills and interpersonal skills.
