Pet Therapy Volunteers Needed
Detalhes
Descrição
At St. Francis Healthcare System of Hawaiʻi, we believe that compassionate care extends beyond medicine. For many of our hospice patients, one of the most difficult parts of moving into a care facility is leaving behind a beloved pet. The companionship, comfort, and unconditional love they once shared is deeply missed.
Our Pet Therapy Volunteers help fill that void by bringing certified therapy animals to visit patients, families, and our cherished kupuna. A gentle nuzzle, a wagging tail, or simply a quiet moment together can spark treasured memories, reduce feelings of loneliness, ease anxiety, and bring genuine joy. These visits often create meaningful connections that comfort both patients and their loved ones.
If you and your pet have a calm, friendly temperament and enjoy bringing smiles to others, we invite you to join our Volunteer Programs team. By sharing your time, kindness, and the healing power of the human-animal bond, you'll help us continue St. Francis Healthcare System of Hawaiʻi's mission of caring for our communities with dignity, compassion, and aloha. Together, you and your four-legged companion can make a lasting difference—one visit, one smile, and one wag at a time.
