    Descrição

    Who We Are

Unruled Masses is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public-interest intelligence and civic engagement organization focused on exposing corruption, abuse of power, and systemic exploitation—while helping communities peacefully reclaim agency, accountability, and civic life. Democracy is Non-Negotiable is our core positioning statement.

We combine rigorous intelligence tradecraft with public-facing analysis, community education, and real-world civic action. Our work is published globally and shared through reports, newsletters, social media, and on live and recorded webcasts. But our mission goes beyond exposure: we aim to help people reconnect, organize, and act together—grounded in facts, not fear.

    Who You Are

You are a proactive, detail-oriented professional who believes that real change happens when people gather in person. You are passionate about accountability and want to use your organizational talents to create spaces where civic action and community building can thrive.

You may have a background in field marketing, event production, hospitality, or grassroots organizing. Whether you have experience managing high-stakes, televised events or you are a master of local "tabletop" cafe gatherings, you understand that the logistics are the backbone of any successful movement. You are a collaborator who enjoys working within a team to turn a strategic vision into a lived experience.

    What You’ll Do

As an Events Manager, you will:

    • Identify Opportunities: Scout and evaluate suitable conferences, community events, protests, and marches where Unruled Masses can establish a presence or lead the conversation.
    • Collaborate on Strategy: Work alongside other Event Manager volunteers to determine which gatherings align best with our mission of exposing corruption and rebuilding community.
    • Design & Plan: Lead the event design process, from conceptualizing the "look and feel" of a UM presence to coordinating the technical and physical requirements.
    • Coordinate Logistics: Manage the "nitty-gritty" details, including venue sourcing, vendor relations, volunteer scheduling, and equipment transport.
    • Execute & Oversee: Help lead the on-site execution of events, ensuring everything runs smoothly—whether it’s a small local workshop or a large-scale public demonstration.
    • Integrate Action: Work with the intelligence and communications teams to ensure every event provides a clear "call to action" that helps attendees transition from awareness to agency.

    Exceptional volunteers may:

    • Serve in regional or national leadership roles
    • Oversee high-budget or complex televised productions
    • Develop standardized "Event Kits" for global chapters
    • Mentor junior event coordinators

    Event Scales of Interest

We are looking for individuals capable of managing a diverse range of activations, including:

    • Micro-Events: Cafe meetups, local "know your rights" workshops, and small information tables.
    • Civic Presence: Coordinated UM blocks at marches, protests, and community rallies.
    • Professional Gatherings: Representation at tech, legal, or human rights conferences and symposiums.
    • Major Productions: Large-scale town halls, televised panels, and multi-day summits.

    Ideal Qualifications

    • Demonstrated experience in event planning, marketing, or project management.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple moving parts simultaneously.
    • A "roll up your sleeves" attitude—comfortable with both high-level strategy and physical setup/teardown.
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to represent Unruled Masses professionally to external partners.
    • Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment while executing in the physical world.
    • Experience in "guerrilla marketing" or grassroots mobilizing is a significant plus.
    • Comfortable with the unpredictability of live events and able to problem-solve under pressure.

    Compensation & Commitment

This is an unpaid volunteer role. We are flexible on time commitments but ask for at least 2–5 hours a week for planning, with higher availability required during the lead-up to and execution of specific events. As funding allows, paid positions may be offered in the future.

Benefits of Volunteering with Unruled Masses

    • Join the founding team of a high-impact, global movement.
    • Build a professional portfolio of diverse event executions, from grassroots to large-scale.
    • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of analysts, researchers, and organizers.
    • Directly facilitate the "real world" connection that turns intelligence into action.
    • Receive credit and visibility for your role in major public-facing UM activations.
    • Be part of a mission focused not just on exposing harm—but rebuilding agency, joy, and community.
