Position Overview 

As Product Manager, Welcome Corps, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of the Welcome Corps to mobilize and equip potential sponsors to submit qualified applications to the program, ensuring they are prepared to welcome newcomers into their community. 


You will be responsible for ensuring a unified, seamless sponsor experience across all digital interfaces and touch points. As a champion of our sponsor users, you will work closely with key internal and external stakeholders to shape requirements and represent the sponsor’s needs in their interactions with the website, the application form, training material, and other interfaces. You will collaborate with others in helping establish a vision for overall sponsor experience. And you will develop and maintain product roadmaps in support of that vision. 


This role reports to the Chief Technology Officer. In addition, you will support and be supported by an array of other professionals, both contractor and staff, including designers and developers, a program manager for sponsor experience, a technical project manager, and other technical and programmatic specialists. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Product Strategy 

  • Define and communicate the sponsor experience vision and strategy, synthesizing inputs from a variety of key stakeholders 
  • Develop a clear roadmap, and prioritize features and enhancements 

Product Development 

  • Act as product owner with a robust external development team, ensuring they are creating accurate product requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria. 
  • Ensure that products are delivered on time and within budget, highlighting risks and recommending mitigation strategies to the CTO and other executive stakeholders. 
  • Gather sponsor data reporting and analytics requirements from key stakeholders and work with the data team to ensure dashboards, reports and potential API integrations are available as needed. 
  • Manage external user research and testing team to design and implement appropriate research and tests.


Sponsor Focus 

  • Understand and advocate for the needs and desires of future sponsors. 
  • Monitor user satisfaction and address issues promptly. 
  • Use market-research, best practices, user feedback, and stakeholder recommendations to design and deliver a coherent online sponsor experience that anticipates the needs of sponsors and encourages them along their journey. 
  • Leverage user data, including user feedback and user testing, to make recommendations on and lead improvements to the platform to encourage successful application submission. 

 

Communication 

  • Effectively communicate updates and changes to internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Create documentation and training materials as needed for Welcome Corps internal teams and system users. 

 

Compliance 

  • Ensure that products adhere to any regulatory requirements, including broader Welcome Corps technology and security standards. 

 

Qualifications 

  • A user-centric mindset with a focus on delivering products that meet user needs and expectations. 
  • Minimum of 4+ years of progressive experience in product management, with a focus on online platforms and software development. 
  • Proven track record of successfully managing the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to launch and ongoing optimization. 
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with a diverse array of actors. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate complex policy ideas and programmatic elements in an accessible manner to a diverse set of audiences. 
  • Previous experience managing projects that involve the development and customization of solutions on the Salesforce platform. 
  • Experience conducting user research, gathering feedback, and using data-driven insights to inform product decisions. 

 

Desired Skills and Experience 

  • Experience in form design 
  • Experience working with users with a range of English and technical literacies (e.g., elderly, non-native English speakers)
