Descripción

VisArts is seeking a dynamic individual with at least five years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, individual giving, and donor relations to join our team as Individual Giving Manager.

The Individual Giving Manager reports directly to VisArts’ Vice President of Development. This is a part-time (30 hours/week with benefits), exempt, hybrid position with two days per week onsite and some in-person meetings and event attendance.

VisArts is a nonprofit arts center located in Rockville, MD, with art classes and camps, four contemporary art galleries, studios, artist residencies and fellowships, a supported studio program for artists with disabilities, and community outreach programs. We’re a caring, creative community and our mission is to transform individuals and communities through the visual arts.

VisArts is actively recruiting applicants from all backgrounds so that our staff more closely matches the diversity of our community. We believe a diverse team creates a better experience for our community, a better place to work, and a better world in which to live. We strongly encourage BIPOC, AAPI, and/or LGBTQ+ applicants.

The Individual Giving Manager will play a critical role in developing and implementing strategies to engage individual donors, cultivate relationships, and drive revenue growth to support VisArts' mission and programs. The right candidate will thrive as a member of a small, collaborative team and will have demonstrable experience stewarding donors of all levels, developing impactful materials and communications, executing successful fundraising campaigns, and prospecting and closing major gifts.

What We’re Looking For

The right candidate for this position is a gifted communicator and successful relationship builder. Strong candidates will have:

·      A minimum of five years of relevant experience in nonprofit fundraising, individual giving, and donor relations.

·      A track record of successfully executing individual giving campaigns and soliciting and closing major gifts. Experience securing planned gifts is a plus.

·      Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate VisArts' mission and impact compellingly.

·      Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders, including donors, staff, Board members, and volunteers.

·      A passion for and commitment to VisArts' mission and vision.

·      Proficiency in CRM database management and donor analytics tools (e.g., CauseVox, DonorPerfect, Bloomerang).

·      Solid organizational capabilities with strong project management skills and a track record of meeting deadlines.

·      A positive attitude, team spirit, and sense of humor.

Given that nonprofit fundraising is an evolving landscape, strategies, opportunities, roles, and responsibilities are subject to changing circumstances. Flexibility, adaptability, and proactivity are keys to success in this role.

What You’ll Be Doing

·      Developing and executing strategies to engage donors at various giving levels and strengthening their connection to VisArts' mission and programs.

Annual Fundraising Campaigns

·      Planning and executing VisArts’ annual fundraising campaigns aimed at acquiring, renewing, and upgrading individual donors.

·      Collaborating with the Executive Director, Vice President of Development, and marketing and program staff to develop compelling fundraising appeals, solicitations, and other collateral materials to inspire giving and communicate impact.

Donor Communications and Engagement

·      Managing donor communications channels and overseeing development of materials that engage and steward individual donors effectively, including emails, direct mail, impact reports, and acknowledgments.

·      Collaborating with VisArts’ marketing staff on social media strategies to support donor engagement.

·      Partnering with staff to ensure programmatic events, site visits, gallery openings, and similar events, including creative donor engagement opportunities.

Data Management, Research and Analysis

·      Ensuring the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date donor records in VisArts' donor database.

·      Analyzing donor data and fundraising metrics to assess performance, identify trends, and share key learnings to inform strategic decision making.

·      Engaging in regular research and professional development to hone skills and learn new trends and technologies for donor cultivation and engagement.

Major Gifts

·      Identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gift prospects in collaboration with the Vice President of Development, Executive Director, and Board of Directors.

If you're excited about this role but your experience doesn't align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you still to consider applying.
