Are you passionate about creating positive change in your community? Do you have experience in training, education, or event planning? If so, we want to hear from you! 

The Health & Housing Consortium ("the Consortium") is in search of a highly skilled and experienced Independent Contractor to join us for a 6-month contract. We are looking for someone with expertise in training, education, and event planning, who can work efficiently to execute tasks with autonomy and minimal oversight. While this is a remote role, there may be occasional in-person meetings or events in New York City.

Join us at the Consortium, where we are part of a dynamic coalition of healthcare, housing, homeless, and social services organizations, as well as government partners. Together, we are committed to advancing health equity and enhancing housing stability by nurturing cross-sector relationships, influencing policy, and empowering frontline workers.

Excitingly, the Consortium has secured a planning grant to launch a Workforce Development Training Program. This initiative will provide foundational training for frontline staff entering the sector. The Independent Contractor will lead the development of this program and oversee event planning for our annual conference.

Make a meaningful impact and drive change in New York City's healthcare and homeless services landscape through this contract position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research training needs and resources
• Develop training content and curricula
• Coordinate with partners and deliver trainings
• Assist in event planning for our annual conference

Qualifications:

• MSW or a related degree, certification, or work experience in training, education, and/or event planning
• 3-5 years experience in the health or human services sectors
• Familiar with Google Workspace and Zoom
• Experience with Association Management Software (AMS) and/or Learning Management Systems (LMS) is a plus
• Able to prioritize and manage your schedule
• Able to work with minimal supervision
• Excellent time-management, communication, and organizational skills
• Competent in professional correspondence
• Strong interpersonal skills 
• Passionate about social justice, health equity, and ending homelessness

Compensation:

• Compensation: $50-75/hour
• Approximately 20 hours/week for 6 months
• Remote position with occasional in-person events in NYC
