Shakespeare Theatre Company, in Washington D.C., seeks a Major Gifts Manager. This position works within the Individual Giving team and reports to the Associate Director of Development, Individual Giving. Responsibilities include managing a portfolio of current donors from the $1,800-$9,999 level, supporting the Associate Director in arranging and planning donor travel, tracking and delivering major donor benefits, and ensuring donors receive excellent donor stewardship. This is a full-time position with excellent benefits and an annual salary of $65,000 - $70,000.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Arts Management, Business, Marketing, or Communications, or equivalent professional experience. An additional 2-5 years of arts fundraising (or fundraising in a related field) and experience with Tessitura (or other database programs) and email programs is strongly preferred. Under the dynamic leadership of Simon Godwin, STC is at a thrilling moment of opportunity as it strives to become the leading classical theatre in the nation. Candidates should love people and theatre and bringing the two together. Enthusiasm for theatre is a must; knowledge of Shakespeare and classical theatre is helpful but not required. This is a hybrid position, with three days a week on-site required, and possible additional days for meetings or events.
