The Immigration Center for Women and Children (ICWC) seeks a full-time Supervising Attorney for our San Francisco Mid-Market Office.

The offices primarily work with federal immigration laws that allow marginalized immigrants apply for work authorization and permanent residency. Duties and Responsibilities:
The supervising attorney will supervise staff attorneys, DOJ representatives, and legal assistants, and collaborate with other attorneys, social workers, legal and administrative assistants, and interns. They will represent survivors of crime, including domestic violence, and unaccompanied immigrant children who fled abuse in their home country and are in, or released from, federal Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) custody in Marin County. The supervising attorney may sometimes visit an ORR facility in Marin to conduct intakes with youth eligible for our representation. They will coordinate their efforts with the ICWC ORR team members in San Francisco and collaborate with ICWC management team across all 5 ICWC offices.
Duties include conducting client intake, case assessment and ongoing case management, researching, drafting legal documents, and attending court hearings in both immigration court and state court. The attorney will work collaboratively with social services staff to provide comprehensive wrap-around services to the immigrant youth population. The attorney's caseload will be a combination of defensive (removal) and affirmative cases, with a focus on providing relief under asylum and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) for unaccompanied minors. The attorney may also supervise law students and other volunteers.
