Greater Brookland Intergenerational Village (GBIV) is a member-driven nonprofit dedicated to building an even stronger, multigenerational community in the greater Brookland area of Washington, DC. We help our neighbors in Brookland, Brentwood, Langdon, Woodridge, and University Heights develop the relationships and tools needed to age well in place and in community. GBIV is part of an association of thirteen Senior Villages in DC, known as the DC Village Collaborative. Villages work with members to provide social, wellness, and educational programs. They also coordinate volunteers to deliver support services such as transportation, home maintenance, yard work, and technology assistance.
As we begin our fifth year, we are focused on growing our membership, expanding our programs, and enhancing our volunteer services. Additionally, GBIV is committed to establishing policies and processes to ensure long-term organizational health.
GBIV is seeking a civic-minded, entrepreneurial leader to serve as our organization’s next Executive Director (ED). In this role, you will focus on creating systems and partnerships to build organizational resilience and empower our Village volunteers to lead program, membership, and volunteer processes. As a creative, solutions-oriented professional, you understand how to engage and inspire a network of volunteers to collaboratively meet fundraising and program goals. Most importantly, you will bring a commitment to GBIV’s mission of creating an inclusive, multigenerational community in support of older adults in greater Brookland.
