Descripción

The Director of Social Services (DSS) is responsible for operating the Pioneers Assistance Fund (PAF) program of the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation.  The DSS will work closely with the Executive Director (ED) to formulate policy for the program as well as strategies to effectively communicate program descriptions, educational topics, and accomplishments to donors and interested parties. 

Essential Duties - Programs:

  • Pioneers Assistance Fund:
  • Interview clients, identify eligibility, create case plans, and administer case management with short and long term clients.
  • Work closely with Executive Director and Assistance Committee for approval for financial aid.
  • Create and maintain an annual program budget and understand its effect on the overall organization budget
  • Monitor the delivery and quality of services in the department.
  • Measure for effectiveness and impact, as well as, make recommendations as to best practices for the program.
  • Maintain a records management system allowing for effective documentation of all case files and client database.
  • Refer clients to appropriate state, federal, and community programs that offset the cost of grants given and improves outcome for client.
  • Manage the daily operations of the PAF.
  • Manage all aspects of the Pioneer program including the Pioneer Tribute Club, delivery of services, and implementation of grants, delegating to social worker as needed.
  • Provide updates to program related brochures and national resources to website, as needed.
  • Field all requests from industry members needing guidance with private family matters.
  • InnerMission Educational Series:
  • Provide topic suggestions for InnerMission educational series
  • Provide support in identifying, vetting and recruiting guest speakers who are experts in their field
  • Motion Picture Industry Communication:
  • Be a resource of information to industry members and companies, by phone, email, website content, social media content, and in person.
  • Maintain good working relationships with human resource personnel or primary contact at industry companies to provide communication and consultation for the Pioneers Assistance Program.
  • Collaborate with ED to create outreach and education content for companies and individuals in the motion picture industry.
  • Make yourself available for industry tradeshows, conventions, and special meetings pertaining to the Pioneers Assistance Fund.

Other Duties:

  • Staff Support and Management:
  • Provide direct supervision and guidance for Social Worker and any other personnel assigned to assist program services.
  • Provide assistance and support to DD, board, members, and ED fundraisers and appeals.
  • Networking for WRMPPF
  • Participate in Entertainment Assistance Cooperative meetings quarterly.
  • Participate and foster appropriate, relevant relationships with community organizations.

General Staff Duties and Expectations:

  • Keep accurate records of all job-related functions and personal benefits documentation
  • Prepare, plan, and organize all duties that affect office performance and other personnel in a timely manner.
  • Maintain respectful relationships with all personnel and volunteers, as well as, provide good customer service internally and externally.
  • Speak clearly with opinions and suggestions to other staff, as well as, respect decisions of other staff and volunteers.
  • Maintain a comfortable work and harassment free work environment.
  • Be aware and use proper judgment of your physical limitations when performing all work related tasks.
  • Adhere to all charity, state, and federal labor guidelines.
  • Actively support the continued development of organizational policies and procedures.  
  • Actively support and contribute to the general performance of the organization by attending and contributing during staff meetings and brainstorming sessions.
  • Act as community diplomat for the organization and its mission.

Qualifications for the Position:

  • Masters degree in Social Work
  • Experience in supervising other social workers
  • Desire to work in the motion picture sector of the entertainment industry
  • Knowledge and willingness to learn all duties is essential to the performance of this position
  • California driver license, proof of automobile insurance, reliable transportation, and ability to make occasional home visits and attend work related functions, in and out of state
  • Experience implementing systems or running a similar program highly desirable.

Compensación

  • Individual medical insurance, including health, dental and vision. Employee premiums are100% covered by WRMPPF. Coverage begins after 30 days of employment.
  • Employer funded Health Reimbursement Account (reimbursement of health-related expenses that are compliant with IRS regulations) of $1,200 annually. 
  • Both short- and long-term disability insurance, both at a 60% base pay rate.
  • Individual term-life insurance for as long as employed by WRMPPF, with value based on your approximate annual salary.
  • Optional self-enrollment in a 401k retirement program, with a maximum of 5% company matching contribution after your one-year anniversary. 
  • Beginning in the team member’s second month of employment the team member will earn 1.66 hours of paid vacation for each full pay period (one week annually).
  • After completion of a team member’s first year of employment, the accrual rate will increase to 3.07 hours of paid vacation for each full pay period (two weeks annually). After completion of a team member’s fifth year of employment, the accrual rate will increase to 4.61 hours of paid vacation for each full pay period (three weeks annually).
  • Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation allows its regular full-time team members 10 sick days per calendar year. Sick days are front loaded at the beginning of each calendar year. Sick days will be prorated by your start date in your first year of employment. 
  • Approved travel expenses (including local and long-distance travel), if needed.
  • Paid holidays for all major holidays including the day after Thanksgiving, as well as, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve, and one personal cultural holiday.
  • Family and Medical leave will be granted for 12-weeks per year, unpaid, for immediate and extended family issues, as well as, for purposes of child adoption.
