What You Will Do:   

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Staff Accountant ensures accurate, timely, and complete entry of accounts payable and employee expense transactions; supports timely closing of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financials including journal entries; and assists with the annual audit. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

Financial Operations - 85% 

  • Manage subsidiary journals, including cash management, accounts payable; and general journals as needed 
  • Review and final approve all Employee expense reports, training employees on policies and procedures as necessary 
  • Reconcile all credit card purchases to monthly statements 
  • Manage 3rd party software for employee expenses, including monthly reporting and reconciliation to the book of record 
  • Receive, review, and process all invoices and other requests for payment 
  • Process cash disbursements on a weekly basis 
  • Reconcile accounts payable on a monthly basis 
  • Process general ledger transactions and post entries 
  • Assist in the annual budgeting process 
  • Assist in the annual financial audit 
  • Maintain and enforce internal controls to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles  

Organizational Support-10% 

  • Manage all vendor relationships, including onboarding of new vendors and resolution of billing issues 
  • Process 1099 forms annually  
  • Oversee financial component of equipment inventory documentation and tracking 
  • Assist in training development and implementation of financial procedures and policies 

 Other Administrative Support-5% 

  • Set up accounts for new employees (Expense reporting platform, Credit card program, national vendor sites) 
  • Manage all insurance policy certificate requests 
  • Assist in support of the board Finance & Investment Committee 
  • Other team projects as needed 


Work Schedule: 

9a – 5:30p Monday-Friday

Expected Travel: 

10-15%


Who Should Apply:  

If you meet the qualifications below, you should apply.  

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance  
  • U.S. work authorization 
  • 1 – 2 years of accounting experience, familiarity with accounting principles and procedures, and ability to identify and suggest system improvements 
  • Skilled at clear, concise, and professional communications 
  • Ability to manage several workstreams and deadlines simultaneously 
  • Experience with Sage Intacct, Quickbooks or other accounting software and ability to help with continuous improvement of financial systems 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs and interest to learn new platforms 
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to work independently 
  • Demonstrated commitment to Bottom Line’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values
