This position, and the NWF International Program, focus on deforestation and conversion of vulnerable habitats around the world, which drive both the climate and biodiversity crises. We are concentrating on commodities causing the most environmental harm, which are often traded or financed by US companies or exported to the US or Europe. Working with partners globally we support responsible, commodity supply chains and effective global commitments like the Paris Agreement on Climate Change. Through these international efforts, NWF is able to foster private sector supply chain transparency and document results that help meet the goals of helping conserve wildlife and facilitating durable climate solutions.
The Senior Manager, for Tropical Forests and Agriculture works with our team to help manage and administer the development and execution of projects that aim to eliminate tropical deforestation, habitat loss, and human rights abuses associated with the production and trading of key agricultural commodities in South America. The Senior Manager will collaborate closely with the Senior Director, Grants Manager and other team staff to execute the projects and, in addition, manage and coordinate the work of partners and contractors in the US and in South America.

Travel Requirements:
Applicants must be able to travel internationally and domestically, travel is expected at least 3 times per year and may last as long as two weeks at a time.
Location and Work Mode:
This position will be based in Washington, DC, though The National Wildlife Federation is committed to a flexible and empowered work environment with an authentic community of care for all staff. In this position, the employee may work full time in the NWF DC office or, if arrangements can be made, in one of the other NWF offices (there are 7 across the country), or hybrid, or fully remote. This will be decided jointly with the supervisor in the final stages of the interview process. Physical Requirements of the Job:
Applicants must be able to travel internationally and have a valid driver license and passport. Applicants must be comfortable with and have the ability to travel in Spanish speaking and/or Portuguese speaking countries (and/or other non-English speaking countries).
Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $70,000-$85,000 commensurate with experience.
