The 150,000-member American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) seeks a highly motivated and detail oriented grants and contracts professional to manage the entire grant lifecycle from

inception through termination, identifying and securing funding opportunities from government agencies and private foundations to support ASCE's mission and strategic programs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Researching governmental, foundation, and other institutional giving for program funding areas and grant opportunities aligned with ASCE's mission and programs
  • Provide grants management support for grant programs, pre-award, award, post-award and closeout phases of the grants management lifecycle process
  • Interacting with internal staff for the purpose of identifying grant requirements and ensuring all grants & contracts are aligned with the organization's missions and goals
  • Familiarity with Federal funding regulations and private funding
  • Developing and maintaining a comprehensive grants calendar
  • Overseeing the grant submittal process, coordinating, and leading the team working on the proposal
  • Reviewing all grant agreements with appropriate staff
  • Tracking and monitoring all grant activities, timelines, and deliverables for grant awards and associated subcontracts and subawards
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for grants & contract-related inquiries and communications
  • Developing grant project budgets
  • Ensuring proper expense allocation and compliance with grant agreements, federal guidelines, and organizational budget
  • Preparing financial reports, analysis, and projections for grant related activities
  • Ensuring all grant & contract agreements, proposals, reports, and essential communications are filed correctly and kept current

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience with specialized knowledge of grants and contracts management
  • 2-4 years’ experience managing grants and contracts
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 Suite 
  • Demonstrated success navigating intricate application and reporting processes with meticulous attention to detail
