Descripción

The Residential Clinician is responsible for providing leadership in ongoing development of the program, and for providing treatment to the clients of the UC program. Conducts mental health assessments, provides ongoing individual and group counseling services in English and Spanish, screens for human trafficking concerns, and provides crisis intervention services, including participation in an on-call rotation with other program leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promote a holistic therapeutic approach, with specific attention and support to include natural supports in treatment, and empowering children to determine treatment goals for themselves.
  • Provide clinical consultation and updates as needed at weekly team meetings and work with the Home Supervisor in overseeing daily routines, program implementation, and establishing a therapeutic milieu.
  • Collaborate with the Activity and Education specialists to assure the delivery of services, in accordance with ORR standards
  • Assist and support all staff within their department in the effective carrying out of their roles and responsibilities.
  • Develop treatment plans for each client, working with the Case Manager, House Supervisor, Activity Specialist, Education Specialist, Program Supervisor, and other supports. Make appropriate clinical decisions about activities, groups, and events in which the client should participate.
  • Provide individual and group therapy in accordance with ORR policy standards:Care providers are to ensure group counseling sessions are delivered at least twice weekly; sessions are usually informal, open forum, and take place with all children present, to give new children opportunity to get acquainted with staff, other children, and rules of the program, as well as make decisions about daily programming, recreational and other activities, to share what is on their minds and problem solve as needed. Care providers are encouraged to adapt group-counseling activities suitable to a community- based setting.
  • In accordance with the Flores settlement agreement, children in LTFC receive weekly individual counseling. At the request of the child, care providers are not required to complete the individual counseling session or group counseling session requirement of two group sessions per week. Care providers must document this change in the child’s case file.
  • Track information, beginning at intake and admission, through treatment and discharge, which becomes part of the statistical data bank of Wedgwood.
  • Responsible for tracking and monitoring utilization and outcome data, including quarterly reporting for the all-agency report card.
  • Responsible for quality assurance compliance, including but not limited to participating in peer supervision, peer utilization reviews, compliance with service delivery criteria and reporting requirements for each individual served.
  • Responsible for timely Quality Assurance compliance as related to employee’s roles and functions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bi-lingual English and Spanish
  • Master’s degree in social work, Psychology or a related field, from an accredited institution.
  • Valid LLMSW, LMSW, LLPC, or LPC
  • Minimum of two years of clinical experience working with a residential population and experience in staff supervision preferred.
  • Prior experience working with an interdisciplinary team preferred.
  • Subscription to the Statement of Faith of Wedgwood Christian Services and agreement with the goal, purpose, and objectives of the agency.

HOURS OF WORK: Monday- Friday, some on-call hours
