Title: Development Officer – Individual Giving

Location:  Redmond, WA

Work schedule:  Full time, 40 hours a week, Hybrid: remote work from home and in-person/onsite.  Schedule typically M-F, 8am – 5pm with some flexibility.  Some evenings and weekends required for events.

The career opportunity: 

The Development Officer, Individual Giving position is focused on providing personal, donor-centered attention to Hopelink’s dedicated, established base of mid-level donors. The role will engage in face-to-face stewardship, cultivation, and solicitation of donors at the $1,000 to $4,000+ level with a goal to retain donors while also increasing giving within the portfolio.

• Minimum of 2 years of direct experience in nonprofit development/fundraising; including experience in gift acquisition and successful donor stewardship and/or portfolio management desired.

• A proficiency in communicating and engaging with donors at varying levels of giving.

• Experience with donor engagement, including understanding of all components of a diverse donor base and its required upkeep.

• Excellent follow through, ownership, self-initiative, and a commitment to actively stewarding donors.

• Valid driver’s license, reliable personal transportation and proof of automobile liability insurance.

Examples of what you will be doing:

• Independently manage, through cultivation and stewardship, a portfolio of donors, and donor prospects.  

• Create stewardship plans for each donor with a focus on active engagement that facilitates deepening and lasting relationships to secure gifts.

• Practice strategic engagement and donor or partner cultivation practices.

• Utilize moves management to move donors thorough the gift cycle in a timely manner.

• Partner with Director of Development, Giving, to track progress to goal and identification of targeted asks through personal cultivation, campaigns, or events.

• Records activity tracking data in Raisers Edge.

• Work with the Director of Development, Giving, to manage an on-going method for researching, soliciting, and cultivating prospective donors.

• Assist development team with fundraising event support, including guest and table captain recruitment and Pacesetter communications and stewardship for Hopelink’s annual Reaching Out Luncheon. Participate with relevant events such as Farm Fresh Feast, donor recognition/appreciation events, and major donor Cornerstone gatherings.


How you will be compensated: Hopelink is proud to provide meaningful paid time away from work and an affordable, comprehensive benefits package.

• Compensation: $29/hour    

• Up to 10 paid vacation and sick days annually and 10 paid holidays, 

• Plus up to 7 paid float days available to use immediately; dependent on hire date and hours/week
