We at BAYAC AmeriCorps are looking for caring adult role models to join the team at A Home Away From Homelessness as a Student Support Associate to bond with and inspire youth in transitional housing! A Home Away From Homelessness is a nonprofit organization that seeks to radically alter the trajectory of children's lives by providing safe and supportive environments that foster their strengths, creativity and abilities. By bringing together homeless and previously homeless children in the Marin and San Francisco counties to offer them new experiences, opportunities, and guidance, these children become part of a welcoming community that encourages their personal growth while providing a sense of inclusivity and family. Associates will support the School House program for middle and high school youth.
Home Away is an intimate, family style support and mentorship program for youth in shelters. What they do shifts according to the needs of the youth they’re serving, so they are looking for members who love working with kids, who can integrate into program and can serve whatever need comes up!
