JOB DESCRIPTION: 

Dress for Success Worldwide is seeking a strategic, detail-oriented Development Associate with a passion for women’s economic empowerment to oversee the in-kind donations program and provide general development support. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional project management and organizational skills, attention to detail, interpersonal and communications skills, and will be adept at managing multiple projects with confidence, poise, and efficacy. This role is based in New York City. 


Essential Functions: 

The Development Associate will oversee a $6 million in-kind donation program and provide general support for the development department. This position requires someone who is detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and handle sensitive information. The selected candidate will maintain the donor database and donor acknowledgements. The candidate will also collaborate across the organization with members of the development team, affiliate impact team, and communications team.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee in-kind donation program including: research, outreach, inventory management, distribution, receipting, donation tracking and reporting.
  • Coordinate with global affiliate network stakeholders, donors, hubs and warehouses as related to distribution of in-kind product and partner engagement projects.
  • Build and cultivate long-term relationships with in-kind partners to deepen their investment and support.
  • Outreach to target donors to secure items and products for event support, including prospect research to identify potential new sources.
  • Maintain records of donations, valuations and consolidate information for annual financial statements, audits, and tax purposes.
  • Collect and manage internal and external statistics, metrics and department resources. 
  • Maintain database (eTapestry support).
  • Provide general fundraising support.
  • Provide event support.
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

  •  Bachelor’s or Associate degree in business, marketing, non-profit management, and/or a human services field
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in a related field
  • Familiarity with fundraising software or equivalent CRM.
  • Familiarity with email distribution platform.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Familiarity with graphic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe) preferred.
  • Fashion and beauty brand knowledge is preferred.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work 

This is a full-time position with a business schedule from Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM. Employees must work 37.5 hours each week to maintain full-time status.  Limited travel may be required.

Work Environment 

Dress for Success Worldwide offers a congenial work environment. The dress code is business smart/business casual and employees work on-site in our New York City office three days per week and remotely two days per week.

Physical Demands 

Employee may need to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds in performing regular office duties and managing records, files, and materials. 

Work Authorization 

Must be able to show eligibility for employment in the United States within three days of hire.
