  • TITLE: Database and Donor Care Associate
  • REPORTS TO: Database Manager
  • LOCATION: Hybrid, Northeast (New York City metro area, preferred)
  • EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time
  • SALARY RANGE: $50,000 – $60,000 (commensurate with experience)
POSITION SUMMARY
The Associate will be part of the Fundraising Support Team assisting in four core areas – 1) data and reporting, 2) gift processing and entry, 3) donor care; and 4) general administrative support. The day-to-day activities, include maintaining and updating integrated systems; supporting data integrity and reporting requests; and overseeing key aspects of our donor care program.
This is a multi-faceted role and is a great opportunity for someone who thrives on data, processes, donor care and team collaboration. This individual has solid experience in data management and analytics; strong communication (verbal & written), project management with attention to detail, and is excited to learn more about non-profit fundraising.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Data and Reporting
  • Assist the Database Manager in maintaining data hygiene and integrity of donor records (including biographical information, address verification, gifts, fund/campaign coding, etc.).
  • Collaborate in the development and implementation of data entry protocols to ensure consistency and reliability across systems
  • Conduct regular audits of data entry processes to identify and rectify duplicate records, discrepancies, and errors
  • Support the integration between Raiser’s Edge and other systems, with a focus on troubleshooting and resolving data issues
  • Generate reports from Raiser’s Edge as required to support fundraising teams
  • Work collaboratively with the USA for UNFPA team to optimize system performance and functionality
  • Supervise accurate and timely gift entry into the Raiser’s Edge database
  • Support monthly gift reconciliation, as required
Donor Care
  • Act as the initial point of contact for donor and prospect inquiries by promptly, courteously, and efficiently answering, screening, and forwarding calls from the main telephone line
  • Manage two donor care email inboxes, ensuring timely coordination with fundraising teams and response
  • Assist in developing and coordinating acknowledgment letters and annual tax receipts, welcome packages including maintaining automated processes for efficiency
Administrative Support
  • Provide backup support for the Database Manager role
  • Assist the Senior Operations Manager with the Board, meetings, including logistics and materials, and vendor management
  • Support the Database Manager and Senior Operations Manager in special projects or other tasks, as needed.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field; and one or more years of related professional experience
  • Strong analytical skills and enjoys working with data
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, such as Microsoft Excel, or other business software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and provide support to staff members.
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge or other similar fundraising database in a nonprofit organization a plus.
  • Strong affinity with UNFPA’s mission and commitment to global reproductive health and rights.
