Summary of Principal Responsibilities:
Amid today’s resurgence of grassroots organizing and heightened calls for racial justice, pointed efforts must be made to engage young people in local communities. The New York Office of the American Friends Service Committee will contribute to this effort during the summer of 2024. Our focus will be helping communities create new visions of policing justice and incarceration and empowering young people with the skills and strategies, including using the arts, to advocate for healing in our criminal and immigration legal systems. We are seeking an intern to join us in this work.

Compensation: Salary Range $20 per hour, up to 210 hours total – Non-/Exempt – There are no medical, dental, or life insurance benefits, short-term or long-term insurance benefits with this position. AFSC does participate in unemployment, worker’s compensation, and social security.
