Serenity House is based on the comfort care model which allows the most vulnerable uninsured populations, at the end of a life limiting illness, the ability to receive end of life care in a home-like setting. The goal is to provide compassionate care to the neediest of families without concern as to the patient’s ability to pay. Serenity House of Mooresville operates through private donations and do not accept insurance or government subsidies such as Medicare. The average serenity house patient receives $18,000 in donated care which is provided by volunteers, staff members and hospice nurses.
