They normally say In Africa, old age goes with wisdom and store of
knowledge. However, in Ghana and other parts of the world, ageing is becoming a
problematic in the areas of recognition and honor in public and even at home.
Glory Aged Foundation (GAF) is a registered non-governmental organization
under The Companies Act, 1963, Act 179 in Ghana. GAF will love to create a
place with activities and support services that would cater to the specific
needs of the aged, those of sixty years and above (60+) in the communities in
Ghana. The Organization addresses the health, social, recreational, and
logistical needs of the elderly population in four towns. We started this
organization not long ago with 15 aged people. Because of our loyalty and love
to do more to assist these honorable men and women we are getting more and more
aged who are in need every now and then.
Our mission is to
help seniors improve and maintain a healthy and independent lifestyle and to
maximize their quality of life. Glory aged foundation is a Ghanaian nonprofit
Cooperation whose mission is to assure our elders are treated with care,
dignity and the utmost respect during final years when they can no longer take
care of themselves. To support older people especially those in need due to
physical or mental frailty, isolation and poverty. To cater for the aged in
terms of medical bills, drugs, provide food, shelter, clothing, shoes and other
materials to give them peace of mind.
Our Vision is to create an environment full
of peace, rest, comfort and access holistic healing for all aged (60+).
With this, people who meet our services are;Ø The aged 60 years and above who are
dependent.
Ø Those sick in bed or are paralyzed.
Ø Those suffering from diseases such as
stroke, blindness, deaf and dumb, High blood pressure, diabetes, glaucoma,
HIV/AIDS etc.
Ø Those neglected by family members
(Homeless)
Ø Those living with disabilities
