Advanced Training

TI operates one of the longest-running Advanced Training Programs for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the country. Our esteemed faculty and experienced supervisors provide students with a unique blend of comprehensive training and professional support that helps them move toward successful, rewarding careers in the mental health field.

Public Education

TI-sponsored lectures, conferences and forums provide a great opportunity for people to learn from leaders in the psychoanalytic field while staying current on a range of mental health topics and issues.

Affordable Counseling

TI's counseling program, operating at The Sarah A. Meehan Center, has helped thousands of people over the years overcome issues such as low self-esteem, anger management, career difficulties, relationship conflicts, depression and anxiety. Our therapists are compassionate, caring and expert at what they do. Our sliding scale fees are designed to fit into people's budgets — not strain them.

For more than 50 years, the Training Institute for Mental Health (TI), a 503(c)(3) nonprofit, has provided affordable, high-quality therapy services in New York City.

TI also hosts an acclaimed training program for mental health professionals in psychoanalysis, psychoanalytic psychotherapy, group and couples therapy.
