NAFASI in Tanzania is a non-profit NGO operating in Moshi, Tanzania started by a group of Tanzanian and International volunteers that strives to promote education, sustainable small business, and social and economic cooperation. We are firm believers in the value of cultural exchange first-hand experience, and helping people to help themselves. We also believe in complete transparency. Every cent that is brought into this organization, whether by volunteer, donor, partner organization, paid interest, or any other means, is kept in Tanzania, and is used to fund micro and small business loans, educational projects, or to pay wages to support Tanzanian employment. Everyone who chooses to work for or aid the organization is an unpaid volunteer, donating their time and skill toward these same goals. There are currently five loans in the works, seven educational and social projects and fifteen available volunteer project opportunities.
