Our program is designed for students who combine a passion for public service
with the desire to develop the skills necessary to address contemporary social
problems and issues. The program requires the completion of 34 credit hours of graduate level course work, which can be
completed in four semesters of full-time study or six semesters of part-time
study. During these courses, students are exposed to advanced methods courses
that offer the practical skills of how to conduct social research, from in-depth
interviews to surveys using representative samples to the evaluation of policy
programs. In addition, all students take courses in social theory as well as
specialty topics that reflect the diversity of faculty areas of expertise.
