YOUTH ADVOCATES GHANA

Youth Advocates Ghana-YAG is the only civil society organization in the whole of Akuapem South District (Aburi Constituency) and Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipal Assembly working to eliminate gender-based violence against women and children ( violence against girls in school, rape, defilement and sexual harassment as well as demanding sex favors before offering employment etc).YAG works at the grassroots level with poor communities ,Schools, faith based organizations, government agencies and other network organizations to create awareness by STANDING UP and SPEAKING OUT against sexual violence in our midst especially as it affects women and children.

Our Vision:

We envision a society free from sexual violence ;where victims receive compassion, support and justice and perpetrators held accountable.

Mission:

We work towards the elimination of sexual violence, and our primary goals are to provide preventative education ,offer intervention to victims and lead public advocacy to change public misconceptions and legal policies.

Key Areas of Work:

Prevention at the community-level (community education, social mobilization, awareness raising, etc.)

Service delivery (counseling, legal advice, shelter/refuge, referrals, etc.
