Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays from 3:30-5:00pm
Program Description:
IRCO’s RESJ-WAS youth program seeks to ensure students in our After- School program (Pacific Island, African and Slavic students) are on track to graduate high school with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Through this program, students and families have a safe space within the school system and improve attendance rate, student retention and parents' involvement in their children's school and academic growth.
Position Summary:
Volunteers will provide tutoring in math, enlgish literacy and/or science subjects and assist with academic enrichment activities, such as career exploration fieldtrips and workshops. Volunteers should have a passion for working with immigrants and refugee students. A good fit for this opportunity is someone with deep familiarity in high school math (algebra), english/literacy and science subjects.
Qualifications: Experience tutoring high school students is preferred but not required.
Time Commitment: Volunteers should be able to commit to tutoring once or twice weekly throughout the school year.
