Museum Shop Volunteer

Overview of Position

Museum Shop Volunteers provide a warm and welcoming environment for visitors and share information about tours, programs, exhibitions, and events held at our museums and sites. Volunteers process transactions and support the mission of HBMS through the promotion and sale of memberships.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

1. Will warmly greet visitors when they enter the museum.
2. Will provide visitors with information regarding current and upcoming museum exhibits, programs, events, and tours.
3. Will process sales transactions through the point-of-sale system.
4. Will support the HBMS mission through the promotion and sale of memberships.
5. Will answer the phone and direct calls as needed.
6. Will help to ensure that the gift shop is clean and well-stocked.

Qualifications 

A resume, references, and an interview are required for this position. Volunteers should demonstrate an ability to accurately process sales transactions and an aptitude for interacting with the public.
