Companionship Caller Volunteer

Help Reduce Senior Isolation – Join our Companionship Calls Program! Some of our San Diego seniors are experiencing loneliness and isolation. By volunteering to become a companion caller, you can help alleviate social isolation by simply having a 15-30 minute weekly or bi-weekly phone conversation with a senior.

We will pair you with a San Diego senior with similar interests who has expressed the desire to talk to a companion. Simply call the senior on an agreed upon time once a week or every other week to have a friendly conversation. Our new companion program system, Mon Ami, will help protect your privacy by shielding your phone number during calls. Apply today to be a companion to a senior in need.

Requirements:

1. Be at least 18 years of age;
2. Complete a LiveScan in-person background check that reviews in California and FBI records;
3. Pay a $10 fee to help us offset the cost of the background check;
4. Commit to a regular phone call weekly or bi-weekly;
5. Ability to volunteer for several months;
6. Passion for helping seniors and reducing senior isolation.

Location: This opportunity is remote in San Diego County
