Our Hospice Volunteers are a vital part to our team as they provide loving support to our patients and their families. As a hospice volunteer, you have the privilege of serving families at a tender time. It is a period of closure and a time of reflection. Many patients find it helpful to talk about their lives with an objective listener. They feel free to discuss events and issues with a volunteer that it may be difficult to share with their relatives or health providers. In addition to visiting our patients, your presence as a volunteer also gives family members the opportunity for a much-needed break. The kinds of activities a volunteer might do include: light housekeeping, running errands, letter writing, sharing hobbies or interests, and engaging in fun activities that the patient may prefer like art or music. Your schedule as a volunteer is completely up to you! We appreciate any and all help at all times! You will touch base with our Volunteer Coordinator, Taylor Ready, and she will pair you with a patient of similar interests or personality to make the best experience for you! For our volunteers, we do require a background check, drug screen, and a two-step TB test. We also will need copies of your driver's license and car insurance since you will be driving to these patients wherever they may be whether that is to their personal home or a facility. Our Volunteer Coordinator will ensure you have all the needed requirements and conduct an orientation with you, so you know everything you need to before seeing our sweet patients and families!

Our Mobile office is located at 10 Mobile St Mobile AL 36607 right across from UMS Wright School. Our Daphne office is located right past Baldwin Eye Clinic and by Eastern Shore Baptist Church. It is beside other offices and we are in Suite B.
