Teaching Assistant Volunteer (remote)

Teaching Assistant Volunteer Role Summary: 

Join our Executive Coaching Program as a remote Teaching Assistant volunteer! The Teaching Assistant will assist the head teacher with instruction and behavior management of students in a manner that adheres to I’Raise Girls & Boys International’'s mission, values, and objectives as outlined.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists executive coach in planning and implementing a program of instruction
• Reinforce lessons presented by the teacher by reviewing material with students one-on-one or in small groups
• Assist the teacher with tracking attendance, proctoring exams, calculating and recording grades
• Assist the teacher in creating a classroom environment conducive to learning by employing a variety of appropriate teaching and social-emotional learning strategies
• Assist the teacher in developing and implementing reasonable rules of classroom behavior and strategies for coping with academic and behavioral challenges
• Protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities in a manner that is consistent with confidentiality, best practices, and IRAISE’s policies and procedures

Requirements:

• Ability to function well as part of a team and work independently.
• Must be team-oriented, with a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a passion for serving youth from marginalized communities.
• Demonstrated ability to “multi-task” and deliver high-quality work.
• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Teaching or a related subject.

Time commitment:

Only 4 hours per week, for a total of 90 days (flexible scheduling available)Commitment can be fulfilled through individual sessions or workshops

Additional details: Training and resources will be provided to support you in your role. Background checks are required for all volunteers working with young people.

About Executive Coaching Program: I'RAISE Girls & Boys CEO Executive Coaching Program is a competitive intensive academy, taught and led by experienced and skilled CEO professionals. The academy offers youth ages 8-19 years old hands-on and thought-provoking discussions and activities on expanding their business or business idea. This academy will teach advanced skills in business planning, marketing, financial management and budgeting, and elevator pitch through simulation learning, peer-based activities, and an immersive model.
