DVRT / CSVA Volunteer

We are looking for volunteers for our domestic violence response teams and our sexual violence response teams. Volunteers can participate in either or both programs. This opportunity covers all of Passaic County and/or local municipalities within Passaic County, NJ.

In programs that serve survivors of gender-based violence, volunteers are the lifeline of the program. In many respects, volunteers are the cornerstone that keeps programs like ours doing the vital work that is done to support survivors as they navigate their traumatic experiences.

We are looking for volunteers who are empathetic, eager to learn, motivated, and committed, and also meet the qualifications below:

 ● 18 years of age or older 

 ● Resident of, or employed in the Passaic County area 

 ● Valid New Jersey driver’s license 

 ● Available transportation 

 ● No criminal history 

 ● No prior history as a defendant in a domestic violence-related matter. 

 ● No prior history as a defendant in a sexual violence-related matter. 

 ● Available to be on-call a minimum of four times per month 

 ● Ability to communicate well with others 

 ● Good listener 

 ● Sensitivity to victim’s feelings and concerns 

 ● Desire to help others 

 ● Available to participate in initial and ongoing domestic violence training 

 ● Available to participate in initial and ongoing sexual assault training.
