Major Responsibilities: 

Organization & execution of one or more events held throughout the year including:

  • Event planning and executing deliverables against a predefined project plan
  • Social Media/Event Promotion - to get the word out about the event and get the community excited about participating.
  • Sponsor Outreach & Communication - to generate interest in the event and raise monies beyond the event attendance
  • Event Hosting - including attendees’ registration and day of event logistics
  • Engaging & courting current & future supporters
  • Post-event follow-up and ensure the event is successfully completed – through a combination of direct contributions and collaboration with others.
  • Actively contribute to the creation of synergy across all Baypath events 

Measures of Success include:

  •  Fiscal goals for Fundraising Events – including attendance, day of event contributions, and event sponsorships
  • Trends of attendees – both existing donors and new supporters
  • Conversion of event attendees into supporters and consistent donors
  • Feedback from attendees – collected post-event
  • Feedback from planning team and volunteers – collected post-event

Requirements:

  • Background in large scale (500+ attendee) fundraising event definition, creation and execution.
  • Experience with and/or interest in contributing to and learning about a non-profit mission.

 General Expectations:

  • Leadership & Initiative –Board Members are expected to serve as leaders- both on the Board and within their assigned Committees.
  • Meeting participation –Board Members are expected to actively attend and participate in Committee meetings and full Board meetings.
  • Organizational Expertise- Board Members are expected to understand the policies and procedures of Baypath – and use this knowledge to support discussions and decisions.
  • Donor Stewardship –Board Members are expected to attend some Baypath events throughout the year and leverage these gatherings as an opportunity to further our relationship with our supporters.
